Member of the MdF Family Partners Advisory Board, Mr. Maortua is a person of recognized prestige within the Spanish financial world given his professional career in the banking sector. He graduated in Business Administration at Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE) and holds postgraduate studies in Business Administration and Financial Markets from JP Morgan Corporate Education.
During his career, he was Vice-President and Managing Director at JP Morgan as Head of Latin-America, holding different positions in Spain, UK, Mexico and the US.
Subsequently, he joined Banesto as Executive Vice-President of Corporate Banking as well as Executive Vice-President of Global Banking & Markets, where he was responsible for the Treasury division.
Finally, Mr Maortua joined Banco Santander as Executive Vice-President of Global Banking & Markets, where he worked until the end of 2014.
